Yuletide Yoga (back by popular demand)! • 9 – 9:30 a.m.

Vivi is back and ready to help you stretch your way to the holidays! Join the Merry Meder for a Yuletide Yoga session! Please wear very comfortable clothing and bring cookies! (Yes, this session is in the morning; but who says you can’t have cookies in the morning?) Plan for some stretches, a few yoga poses, and lots of laughter.

The Stars Are Brightly Shining • 9:45 – 10:30 a.m.

During this virtual workshop, Museum of the Shenandoah Valley Adult Program Manager Sally Meyers will discuss the history of German paper stars in the Shenandoah Valley and demonstrate how to make the paper stars. Paper supplies to make two stars will be available at the police desks starting Dec. 14 (while they last). Please bring scissors and tweezers to the session if you have them.

Holiday traditions are as unique, special, and varied as the people working and learning at LFCC! Join the HR team to celebrate how your coworkers enjoy the holidays. All traditions submitted by Dec. 13 have been entered in a random drawing and the winner will be announced during this session.

How Lovely Are Thy Branches? • 11:15 a.m. -12 p.m.

Learn to use fresh greens to make holiday wreaths. Follow along with Belle Grove volunteer, Michelle Sunderlin, as she shows us the tips and tricks to making a holiday work of art. If you would like to work along with the session, these are the supplies you will need to have/purchase:

14-inch wire Wreath Form

Paddle Wire

Clippers/Good scissors

  • Garden clippers will work best to cut the greens and wire, but a good pair of scissors will too


  • Pine, holly, magnolia, eucalyptus, cedar, berries, dried flowers etc. Participants will be making about 15 “bundles” of these greens for each wreath

Ghost of Holidays Past • 12:30 – 1 p.m.

There is nothing like the holidays to make us reminisce. Join Jolly John Owens as he takes us on a festive trip down memory lane with the LFCC Library Archives! In addition to a tutorial on how the archives work, we will have “Ghost of Holidays Past” Kahoot trivia games (win prizes!)

People Will Insist On Giving Me Books – Dumbledore • 1:15 – 2 p.m.

Join Andy Gyurisin as he speaks with three local authors who also are LFCC employees: Ann Simpson, Jenni VanCuren, and Wendy Lyman. Join this fearsome foursome as they talk about books, what motivates them to write, and their holiday wishes.

He’s Gonna Find Out Who’s Naughty Or Nice • 2:15 – 2:45 p.m.

Elfish Andy Gyurisin is back, and he wants your belly shaking (like a bowl full of jelly) with laughter during this fast-paced virtual game. It is a game of truths and lies that can be played on your phone and is made even better with audience participation (win prizes!).

Santa Isn’t The Only One Who Likes Red Velvet • 3 – 3:45 p.m.

This virtual happy hour with MSV Director of Education Mary Ladrick will pair a look at the portrait Henry Yelverton, Third Earl of Sussex by Joshua Reynolds with some fun and intrigue. There are also two recipes for Red Velvet Martinis that will be shared with attendees.
