Corey Harlow was a Governor’s Scholar Graduate from Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) in 2013. The Governor’s Scholar program is one in which public school divisions and Virginia’s community colleges work collaboratively to provide students the opportunity to earn a post-secondary degree or a one-year uniform Certificate of General Studies from a community college concurrent with a high school diploma. Corey received his Associate of Arts and Science in Liberal Arts from the College in May 2013, and his Stonewall Jackson High School diploma in June 2013.

Corey just completed his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in History from Virginia Tech. He was on the dean’s list and a summa cum laude graduate. At Tech, he performed undergraduate research within the academic disciplines of: environmental politics, eco-violence, and political violence.

Always striving for the next academic undertaking, Corey will continue his studies at both Virginia Tech and Mary Baldwin Colleges. He plans on graduating in the spring of 2016 with a Masters of Arts in Political Science from Tech and a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Mary Baldwin. His ultimate goal is a position as a high school history or social science instructor.
