Virtual Talent Show
Showcasing the many talents of LFCC’s students. Students, staff, faculty and community are welcome and encouraged to join and vote for their favorite talent at the “live” Zoom event.

Sew-cially Distanced Date Night
Students embroidered their own Valentine’s Day-themed pieces as part of a socially distanced Zoom call with Student Life. Both Jennifer Sandoval and Marta Patricio shared their work!

Diversity, Unity, Equity Art Contest
Students, staff, and faculty participated in a virtual diversity art contest. Chris Parker’s submission won 2nd place in the “Visual Art” category.

 

Virtual Domestic Violence Clothesline Project
Students took a stand against domestic violence and designed t-shirts for this project. All submissions were submitted virtually and the Violence Prevention Education Group voting members ranked submissions. See all submissions at lfcc.edu/prevent. LFCC celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. Students tested their LFCC knowledge.

MLK., Jr. Speech Contest

January 25 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Contestants will write and deliver a 3-5 minute speech on the following topic: “I Have a Dream.” The topic shares the name of one of Dr. King’s most well-known speeches but does not have to cover or mirror the same information; they were then asked to tell us about their dream. The S.T.E.M. Club meets virtually every other Thursday from 12:30pm-2pm virtually via Zoom at lfcc.edu/stem. Some club meetings are reserved to work on the Middletown Butterfly Garden and other in-person activities (notifications of these activities will be sent out in Leo's Weekly Updates and posted online).

The DEI Council welcomes any who wish to join a meeting to join us at our monthly meetings on Fridays from 9-10am at lfcc.edu/deimeet.

Kerri Lane Mariano, Talent Director for Chick-fil-A Rutherford Crossing and Pleasant Valley Road in Winchester is providing free community workshops for students.  Topics range from professionalism, personal branding, resume writing, interview skills, and public speaking.
