URGENT REQUEST: The threat of COVID-19 has affected all of us. Many LFCC students find themselves suddenly in need of basic resources to stay healthy and stay in school. You can support them by contributing to the Student Emergency Fund NOW. Gifts of all sizes will make a difference!
The LFCC Educational Foundation exists to help students achieve their higher education and workforce training goals. When you support the LFCC Foundation, you are investing in the future of your community!
The LFCC Foundation raises private funds to help the college fulfill its mission to provide accessible, quality academic and workforce training opportunities to all students, regardless of financial need.
Your donation supports students through valuable scholarships and enables the college to innovate and expand its programs and facilities to meet the community’s growing needs.
Since most of the college’s graduates live and work in the area, gifts made to the LFCC Foundation truly are an investment your community.
The LFCC Foundation is a nonprofit, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. All gifts are tax deductible as allowed by law. The federal tax identification number of the Lord Fairfax Community College Educational Foundation, Inc. is 51-0247624.
Please make checks payable to “LFCC Foundation” and mail to LFCC Foundation, 173 Skirmisher Lane, Middletown, VA 22645.
The Educational Foundation has been honored to have the support and trust our donor community places in us to steward their gifts and protect personal information. The Foundation was informed by our database vendor, Blackbaud, that the Foundation was part of a security incident earlier this year affecting colleges, universities, and nonprofits internationally, including many Virginia schools.
The LFCC Foundation uses the Raiser’s Edge database to manage its donor list and contributions. Raiser’s Edge is part of Blackbaud’s suite of online business solutions and is a cloud-based donor management tool. The LFCC Foundation’s database contains donor names, contact information and donor giving history. The file copy removed by the cybercriminal during the breach did not contain any credit card information, bank account information, usernames, passwords, or social security numbers.
Blackbaud prevented a full attack on its system and neither the company or law enforcement believe that any data was or will be misused, disseminated or made available publicly. Their notice indicated that no encrypted data from our Raiser’s Edge donor database were accessed, and Blackbaud’s cyber security experts will continue to monitor the situation.
While we have been assured by Blackbaud of the low risk of any misuse of data, we encourage all donors to continue practicing caution around suspicious emails, communications, and activity.
It’s regretful (and infuriating!) that criminals would target the people who are working the hardest and giving the most to make our society better. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Liv Heggoy at 540-868-4091 or [email protected]
