Placement Testing

There are multiple ways to prove that you are ready for college-level English and Math. Some new students may be required to take the Placement Test. Here’s what you need to know before taking the Placement Test.

What to Bring:

One of the following Approved Photo Identification documents must be presented before testing.

  1. Current state Department of Motor Vehicle:
    1. Driver’s license
    2. Learner’s Permit
    3. Identification Card
  2. Current Passport
  3. Current United States Military Identification Card
  4. LFCC Student Identification Card

Placement testing is computerized (no special computer skills needed) and individualized (first come, first served).


Untimed. Plan to spend approximately 2.5 hours for either the English or the Math placement test.


No appointment is required at the Middletown Campus.

No appointment is required at the Fauquier Campus.

The Luray-Page County Center requires an appointment. Please call 540-843-0722.
