EDU 235, Health, Safety, & Nutrition Education

ONLINE 06/09/2020 – 08/03/2020

This course focuses on the health and developmental needs of children and the methods by which these needs are met.  There is an emphasis on positive health, hygiene, nutrition and feeding routines, childhood health and safety issues and stresses supporting the mental and physical well-being of children, as well as procedures for reporting child abuse.

EDU 280, Technology Standards for Teachers

ONLINE 05/26/2020 – 07/20/2020

This course provides K-12 classroom teachers with the knowledge and skills needed to fulfill the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel.  This is a required course for many Teacher Ed students at GMU.

EDU 254, Teaching Basic Academics to Exceptional Children

ONLINE 06/09/2020 – 08/03/2020

This course develops competencies required to teach skills to children with special needs in school settings. It familiarizes students with the indicators of effective teaching and includes the preparation of lesson plans, instructional units, and individualized Education Programs.  This is a required course for many Teacher Ed students at GMU

EDU 295, Mental Health Self-Care Education

ONLINE 06/09/2020 – 08/03/2020

This course provides teachers with strategies and skills that help bring about proactive mental health self-care. As an introduction to routine mental health upkeep, this course includes ready-to-use activities suitable for teacher-facilitated lessons and student-directed learning.
