Adventure and Leadership Gap Year Experience
EARN 4 COLLEGE CREDITS! PED 147- Hiking (1 credit) and RPK 141- Leadership and Supervision (3 credits)
Beyond college credits, students will connect with nature, improve on personal health, enhance leadership and communication skills, and gain job skills through volunteer experiences.
The Gap Year Experience starts October 12 and ends December 17.
Class meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 – 5 p.m.
Students will also be required to volunteer, outside of class hours, in an industry in which they want to pursue a future career.
Gap Year experience with a class cap of 15 students for the PED 147/RPK 141 combination
Weather permitting the class will meet at various locations, including state parks, the Appalachian Trail, and the George Washington National Forest. In the event of severe weather, instruction will occur online.
Masks will be worn when we stop for a lesson and when 6 feet of social distance cannot be maintained while outdoors. Students must comply with all other LFCC COVID-19 guidelines even if off-site.
