Patient Services Representative Program (PSR) (CMAA)

If you’re organized, a “people person,” and are interested in a secure job in the healthcare field, a career as a Medical Administrative Assistant may be just what you’re looking for. In this course, you will learn how to create, maintain, and file medical charts. You will also master the basics of scheduling patients’ appointments. Other topics included in this class are ethical and legal considerations, billing and coding, reading medical documents, medical insurance, and clinic management. Upon course completion, you will be qualified to sit for the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) exam offered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). The exam and textbook are all included.

Program Requirements

Student must take Medical Terminology as a prerequisite to this class. Computer/Regular internet access is required for all Healthcare Fast-Track Career Training Programs. Programs will require both in-class and out-of-class learning.
In order to sit for an National Healthcareer Association (NHA) exam, students must have a High School Diploma, GED or are scheduled to earn a GED in the next 12 months.
