Student Government Association (SGA)

Our Mission: The purpose sgaof the SGA shall be to: encourage communication between students, faculty, and administrators; promote and coordinate LFCC Clubs & Organizations and activities that promote a wide range of interests; encourage and develop students as effective members of the College and community; encourage school spirit; and act as the official voice of the student body. All students are members of the SGA and are invited to participate in any and all events hosted by the SGA. Student Government officers facilitate activities for students to feel heard and to get responses to their questions.

Benefits of Participating in SGA: Students gain significant leadership skills that are transferable to their future goals. Participation in SGA has led to scholarship, internship, and career opportunities at LFCC and beyond! For more info, email [email protected]

2021-2022 Officers

Isabel Reinitz, President

Isabel is a Liberal Arts student from Shenandoah University. As President, she wants to give students more opportunities to get involved at LFCC and in the community.

Martha Patricio, Vice-President

Martha is from Front Royal, VA and she is completing two degrees at LFCC: Health Professions Specialization and General Studies of Arts & Science. Her goal with the SGA is to bring more mental health awareness to help those struggling with school, work, and in their personal lives. She also wants to provide more volunteering opportunities to the LFCC community as well as create a community garden for staff, faculty and students at LFCC.

Aujuai In, Secretary

Aujuai hails from Fairfax, VA and is a Liberal Arts major. Her goal with the SGA is to make sure each student’s voice is heard and that their needs and wants are met and exceeded.

Selene Medjahed-Schwethelm, Treasurer

Lucy Barahona, Public Relations

Lucy lives in Nokesville, VA and is pursuing a degree in education. Her goal in the SGA is for students to have a good experience in school with events and activities.

Ben Hill, Senator

Ben is a Frederick County native, majoring in Business Administration. Ben’s plans for SGA this year include connecting students with LFCC’s Small Business Development program and providing more opportunities for students to get involved. He strives to empower students and clubs and to maintain and build a unique community for LFCC’s student body.

Dan Rice, Senator

Dan was born and raised in Winchester, VA and now lives with his mom and lovely/naughty mini poodle, Miss Ella Bella (pictured). He is studying General Studies at LFCC with an intention to transfer into global/public health. As a senator of the SGA, his goals include advocating between students, faculty, and administration to facilitate optimal wellness for all in our LFCC community and beyond.

Mary Hess, Senator

Mary is a resident of Round Hill, VA majoring in Human Services-Counseling. Her goal is to encourage the community of adult students to get involved at LFCC as being involved online and in-person at the Middletown Campus has made a tremendous difference in her life. Every voice matters!
