Traditional Tutoring

The Tutoring Centers provide free tutoring services to all currently enrolled LFCC curriculum students.

In response to the current public health concerns related to the spread of COVID19, campus tutors will be offering virtual tutoring via ZOOM – an online audio and video meeting platform available to all LFCC students – instead of meeting face-to-face, in keeping with the social distancing protocols recommended by the CDC.

You can request a tutoring session with a campus Tutor during any of his/her available hours. You will receive an email when the Tutor accepts your request, indicating that your session has been scheduled,  Each Tutor’s availability is listed below.

To request a tutoring session with a Middletown Campus Tutor:

  • Visit the Brainfuse home page by logging into your MyLFCC account and clicking on the Brainfuse icon.
  • From the Tutor Match options, select your topic and subject.
  • Choose from the available Tutors in the drop down menu.
  • Select your preferred time from the available tutoring sessions.
  • Provide the Tutor with some information.  What are you struggling with?
  • You will receive a confirmation email when the Tutor accepts your request, indicating that your session has been scheduled.

If you have any problems using TutorMatch or ZOOM, please email the Tutor directly and he/she will be happy to assist you with this process.  Tutors’ email addresses are listed inside the campus tabs below, along with their names, TutorMatch IDs, ZOOM meeting links, and hours of availability.

Here are some tutorials on accessing and using ZOOM for your virtual meeting with a campus tutor.  You should review these before your first ZOOM tutoring session.

PLEASE NOTE:  You will NOT receive an invite to the ZOOM meeting via email as it says in the ZOOM tutorials..  When it’s time for your virtual tutoring session, just return to this page and click on your tutor’s ZOOM meeting link.

Tips for Working with Tutors

  • Attend class – Tutors can help you review and work through challenging assignments and material; however, their role is not as a substitute teacher.
  • Have specific questions for your tutoring session – By completing your readings and attempting to do your assignments before your appointment, you will be better able to describe to your tutor what specific concepts or ideas are challenging you.
  • Bring what you need with you – Bring your textbook, assignments, syllabus, lecture notes, calculator, and any other materials you think you may need for the tutoring session.
