Kasey Ewing, a 20-year-old Bentonville resident, is graduating from LFCC with an associate degree in science. After graduating from LFCC, Ewing plans to transfer to Virginia Tech and major in animal and poultry sciences. She then plans to pursue a doctorate in veterinary medicine with the goal of becoming a wildlife veterinarian.
In addition to attending LFCC and working part time, Ewing is a volunteer at the Wildlife Center of Virginia and the Conservation and Research Center in Front Royal, Va.
As Ewing prepares to embark on the next phase of her educational journey, she looks to her mother as an example of strength and determination. “She is the strongest woman I know, and I want to be able to have a smile on my face at the end of every day, just like her.”
