“Do you know what the really good news is? We pulled it off. Not only did we survive the challenges, but just think of all the incredible people we’ve met by traveling down this path,” proclaims David Jezierski.
This quote is a segment from David’s commencement speech. He was selected for speaker due to his outstanding performance in many facets at Lord Fairfax Community College.
David is graduating with an Associate’s degree in Science, and aspires to teach mathematics at the collegiate level. He plans on attending James Madison University in the fall. As a member of the LFCC Forensics Team, David won two all-around titles at the Collegiate Forensics Association Awards in Informative Speaking and Dramatic Duo Interpretation.
He says, “My experience with the team has made me much more comfortable in a variety of settings.” Also, he is a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and Project L.E.A.D. He was selected in 2012 for the prestigious Valley Proteins Fellows program.
David embraces the diversity of his fellow classmates, from teenagers to grandparents. He finds himself somewhere between the two, as he started college a little later in life. Not the traditional student one might say, but “vast diversity is what makes the community college experience so unique,” remarks David.
David resides in Berryville, VA and enjoys traveling, backpacking, and anything to do with the outdoors.
