Colt Scott is a 20 year old, Strasburg resident, who has attended Lord Fairfax Community College for two years. He is receiving an Associate of Arts and Sciences Degree in Liberal Arts with a Communication Specialization. Always being comfortable with public speaking and theatre, he joined the LFCC Forensics Team and performed well with many first place wins in competition.
LFCC was his first choice after graduation from Strasburg High School in 2012. He explained, “I just wasn’t ready for the transition to a four year institution.” Two years later, he’s ready, and hopes to continue his communication studies at George Mason University.
Colt is the 2014 Commencement Speaker for the College, and wants his fellow graduates to “formulate a dream, set goals, and make progress. Never listen to those voices of can’t, won’t and will nots.” This is a philosophy he has accepted and wants to share with his fellow graduates
Besides Forensics, Colt is part of LFCC’s Improv Group. He played a role in LFCC’s Spring Show and contributes a lot of his success to Professor Andrea Ludwick: “She is always optimistic and pushes her students to the next level.”
Other interests include gymnastics and frisbee. He is a co-captain of the Strasburg Ultimate Frisbee Team. Colt lives in Lebanon Church, Virginia with his parents.
