Catherine Baker is representing Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) at the 2015 Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival as a Princess of the Queen’s Court. An eclectic background which includes rugby player, certified Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B), animal lover, Big Brother-Big Sister volunteer, cross-stitch expert, and hiker, Baker is excited about adding “Princess” to the mix. She jests as she recounts all the Disney princesses from the childhood fairytales.
At 21 years of age, with almost two semesters underfoot at LFCC, she aspires to get her Associate of Applied Science in Emergency Medical Services. Her mother and grandmother are nurses, and her grandfather and uncle are both firefighters; one a HAZMAT specialist and the other a paramedic, respectively.
Originally, a resident of Littlestown, PA, she now calls Gore, VA her home. She lives with her grandparents, who give her much autonomy and support. She says, “I love learning at LFCC – it’s so personal. My education truly matters to my professors. I especially feel so, with Professors Curtis Morgan (History) and Becky Marks (American Sign Language).”
LFCC wishes Baker the best of luck with her duties as she represents the College at the 2015 Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival.
