On October 1, 2014, Lord Fairfax Community College was awarded a $3.25 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor under round four of the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) program. A portion of this grant is dedicated to the creation of HigherEd.org. HigherEd.org provides in-depth information about competency-based education, including an index of CBE-related materials.
