The National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) ranked Lord Fairfax Community College Men’s Rugby Team # 23 nationally. The team (LFCC Lions) has held a national ranking four out of the past five semesters.  The Fall 2014 schedule was one of the toughest yet, because teams such as Duke and Christopher Newport Universities were fierce opponents.

The LFCC Lions won the Cardinal Collegiate Conference and Virginia D-III State Championship in 2013 and were the first community college men’s rugby team to do so.  Aaron Painter and Stuart Freakley have coached the team since 2011 and are very pleased with the outcomes.

For more information about the program, go to http://www.lfcc.edu/current-students/student-life/athletics or contact Aaron Painter at apainter2@lfcc.edu.
