Middletown, Va. Gourmet on the Go LLC, currently operating the on-campus food service for Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) in Middletown, will expand its operations as part of the development of the New Student Union building that opened earlier this year. March 24th is slated as the official opening for the food service provider.
Gourmet on the Go provides café and catering services for LFCC. However, the café is open to the public and anyone can utilize the catering services, at venues both within and outside of LFCC. With the new store being located in a larger more functional space in the northwest corner of the building (fronting route 11 north of Middletown), Gourmet on the Go will target local consumers and commuters residing in the Middletown area, along with their primary target of students, faculty and administrators.
Breakfast and lunch are offered. During spring and fall semesters the café is open Monday through Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Fridays until 2pm. Summer semester hours are reduced. Catering services are available year round. Menus are available online (www.gourmetonthegoVA.com).
Gourmet on the Go focuses on providing fresh, healthy choices and utilizes local businesses to source food product whenever possible. Crabill’s sausage, Route 11 potato chips, and Hunts Brothers pizza are a few of the local products always available at Gourmet on the Go. Fresh chicken salad, egg salad, and tuna salad are made on site and a salad bar is available. Daily lunch specials are also available Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. Online ordering will soon be available.
Gourmet on the Go will continue to operate the café in Fairfax Hall as it undergoes renovation, which will be known as its ‘café kiosk’ location. For more information, contact Kay Schroyer at (540) 303-0212.
