Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) has been recognized by the Virginia Community College Association (VCCA) and District 2 of the National Council on Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) for its new student orientation video.  The video was created in spring 2012 with funds from a Chancellor’s Innovation Fund grant through the Virginia Community College System and is used to orient new students to the College and prepare them for the registration process.  The VCCA awarded the video a first place in the wild card category, while NCMPR gave it a bronze award.

“Staff and students created a unique orientation tool when they produced the video,” stated Dr. Cheryl Thompson-Stacy, College President.  “These awards recognize the creativity and hard work that went into the development of this video.”

The video was produced by the Office of Student Life with assistance from Aaron Riddle, LFCC Graphic Design and Digital Media Specialist, and features many students and staff.

The VCCA is a member organization for community college employees throughout Virginia.  NCMPR is an organization that promotes and supports marketing and public relations on behalf of community colleges throughout the United States and Canada.
