The Office of Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education (WSCE) at Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) has been recognized by the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) for serving more employers than any other community college in the Commonwealth. According to the VCCS, LFCC’s program served 1,273 employers in FY 2012, up 23.6% from the 2011 numbers.
“This data is evidence of what we see every day at LFCC,” stated Dr. Cheryl Thompson-Stacy, College President. “All the staff in WSCE work hard to help employers obtain the skilled employees necessary for their successful operations.”
“It is very affirming to be at the top of the VCCS in employers served,” responded Jeanian Clark, Vice President of Workforce Services at LFCC. “We are fortunate to have good relationships with employers throughout the region, and a history of service that promotes our ability to help develop and expand the skills of our regional workforce.”
According to the VCCS data, 11,025 employers were served throughout the state in FY 2012. LFCC’s program served 11.5% of the total number of employers served. WSCE provides classes, workshops, and specialized training opportunities focusing on job skills and professional development.
