The Practical Nursing Program  at the Middletown Campus of Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) has consistently had a passage rate of greater than 90% for the National Council Licensure Exam  for Practical Nursing (NCLEX – PN) every year since 2008.  This test is part of the requirements for an individual to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.  LFCC student passage rates were 92.3% in 2008, 100% in 2009, 100% in 2010, and 95.8% in 2011.

The LFCC Practical Nursing program at LFCC opened in 1995 as a certificate program requiring a minimum of 30 semester hours with 15% of course work in general education.  The program is approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing and prepares graduates to enter the nursing profession as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) upon passage of the NCLEX-PN.  Employment opportunities for LPNs include hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, home health care, health departments, physicians’ offices, the military, and many other environments.
