Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) has a new method to orient new students to the College and help them navigate the processes involved in class registration. The video was entirely scripted, filmed, and edited at LFCC. The Office of Student Life received a Chancellor’s Innovation Fund grant from the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) in 2011to create the video and set up a virtual process for providing new student orientation. The process replaces the in-person orientation sessions previously held at the College.
“This new process helps to make LFCC more accessible to students who have work or family obligations that limit their ability to attend on-site orientation sessions,” stated Brandy Boies, Coordinator of Student Life at LFCC. “This process has helped to streamline registration for new students, while providing all the information necessary to completing the registration process. We are grateful for the support from the VCCS and the Chancellor that made this video possible.”
Access to video and the orientation process is through the College’s website, http://www.lfcc.edu/future-students/index.html . For more information, contact Brandy Boies at firstname.lastname@example.org or (540) 868-7161.
