Recent data from the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) and Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) show that the College’s student enrollment for the Spring 2012 semester was 6,750 students.  This represents an increase of 3.94% over the headcount for Spring 2011.  Of all community colleges in Virginia, LFCC had the highest enrollment growth rate in the state.  During the past three and a half years, the LFCC enrollment has increased over 30% and the college has consistently been in the top few fastest growing community colleges in the state during this time frame.

“To rank first in growth in the Commonwealth is the result of the College’s efforts to meet the needs of the community.  These continued enrollment increases are a reminder of how important LFCC is to the community,” stated Dr. Cheryl Thompson-Stacy, LFCC President.  “With most Virginia community colleges experiencing a decreased enrollment, the increased number of students reinforces the commitment at LFCC to continue our successful efforts.”

The data was released by the Virginia Community College System (VCCS).  J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College (serving the Richmond area) ranked 2nd in growth percentage.
