Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) is now taking applications for its Middle College.  Middle College is a two-semester program that advances the educational level of adults aged 18 to 24, providing preparation for the GED, the Career Readiness Certificate, and postsecondary education.  The program focuses on moving young adults from where they are to where they need to be in order to become successful in college and in the working world.  The program is provided at no cost to low-income students who qualify for federal financial aid.

Students must meet eligibility requirements and apply to the program in order to be considered.  Potential students should not have completed high school or the GED, not be currently enrolled in high school, meet minimum reading and math requirements, and be dedicated to improving their quality of life by committing themselves to the work needed to be done in order to successfully complete Middle College.  The deadline for applications is August 1, 2012 with program orientation scheduled for August 15, 2012 and classes beginning on August 22, 2012.  Middle College is held at the LFCC Middletown campus.
