A Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) student, David Jezierski, recently received an award for persuasive speaking at the “Virginia Is For Lovers” Tournament. The event was held on February 11, 2012 and sponsored by James Madison University. Jezierski made the finals and placed 5th in the competition. LFCC was joined at the tournament by 14 colleges and universities, including Cedar Crest College, Cornell University, Creighton University, George Mason University, Howard University, Kansas State University, Liberty University, Saint Joseph’s University, Seton Hall University, Suffolk County Community College, University of Akron, and University of Pennsylvania.
Jezierski is a resident of Clarke County, VA and is in his second semester competing with LFCC’s forensics team. He is working towards an Associate Degree in Science, and plans to obtain a bachelor’s and graduate degrees in mathematics in order to become a college mathematics professor. Jezierski is active in LFCC’s Project LEAD and Phi Theta Kappa honor society. He enjoys the great outdoors and all types of adventure.
