Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) will hold a literary reading by Lisa Mikitarian, one of LFCC’s lifelong learners, on Thursday, September 15th from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Carl and Emily Thompson Conference Center on the Middletown Campus. Ms. Mikitarian will read from her collection of short stories, Her Safari: Snapshots Along the Way. The event will include a book signing and reception.
According to best-selling author Jason Wright, Ms. Mikitarian is “…more than a writer. In Her Safari, every word feels hand-drawn into place. The stories are brilliant in this stunning debut.”
Ms. Mikitarian attended LFCC when homeschooling her three children, in order to understand the foundations of fiction and the short story in particular. She credits the instruction she received in her LFCC classes for propelling her forward and for helping her reignite her childhood love of writing.
