MIDDLETOWN and WARRENTON, Va. – On April 11, 2009, a group of Lord Fairfax Community College students and employees will be helping the environment by cleaning a section of shoreline along the Shenandoah River in Clarke County.

This is the third annual river clean up the members of the LFCC Scientific Society have organized. Last year, the group picked up more than two tons of trash from the Shenandoah River.

Community residents are welcome to join the group. The clean-up effort will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a free cookout following the event. Directions are available upon request.

Individuals interested in participating in the clean up may contact LFCC Associate Professor Kerry McKenna at 540-868-7250 or [email protected].
