MIDDLETOWN and WARRENTON, Va. – The Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) Educational Foundation Inc. has added several new scholarships to its list of available funds to assist LFCC students with their education.
The new scholarships and their qualifying criteria are as follows:
- Farmers & Merchant Bank Scholarship – Established by Farmers & Merchants Bank, this scholarship will be awarded annually to full- and/or part-time LFCC students who reside in Shenandoah County and are pursuing an associate of applied science degree in accounting. The scholarship award may be applied toward tuition, fees and/or books and will be divided equally between the fall and spring semesters. Satisfactory academic progress (minimum grade point average of 3.0) must be maintained in order for the recipient to receive the award for the spring semester.
- The Shockey Companies Scholarship – Established by The Shockey Companies, this scholarship will be awarded annually to full- and/or part-time LFCC students who are pursuing an associate of applied science degree in general engineering technology, with specialization in either civil engineering technology or computer-aided drafting. The scholarship award may be applied toward tuition, fees and/or books and will be divided equally between the fall and spring semesters. Satisfactory academic progress (minimum grade point average of 3.0) must be maintained in order for the recipient to receive the award for the spring semester.
In addition to the aforementioned scholarships, the Foundation has many other scholarship funds that provide funding to full- and part-time students. Current or prospective LFCC students interested in applying for one of the many LFCC scholarships can obtain additional information on LFCC’s Web site at https://lfcc.edu/scholarships.
Individuals interested in donating to these or other scholarship funds may make a check payable to “LFCC Educational Foundation Inc.” Please write the name of the fund that will be receiving the contribution on the memo line and mail the check to the LFCC Educational Foundation Inc., 173 Skirmisher Lane, Middletown, VA 22645-1745.
