MIDDLETOWN, Va. – Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) will host the showing on “An Inconvenient Truth” on Friday, April 20, 2007, at 7 p.m. in Room 140 on the Middletown Campus, located at 173 Skirmisher Lane in Middletown. Originally scheduled for March 16, 2007, the event was cancelled due to inclement weather.

Sponsored by the LFCC Scientific Society, the event is free and open to the public. A general discussion will follow the film.

“An Inconvenient Truth” features former U.S. Vice President Al Gore. The documentary was a hit at the Sundance Film Festival and won the best-documentary feature Academy Award on Feb. 25, 2007. The film examines the impending global warming crisis and what can be done to address what Gore calls the “planetary emergency.”
