LFCC Educational Foundation Establishes New Scholarship Funds

MIDDLETOWN and WARRENTON, Va. – Lord Fairfax Community College’s (LFCC) Educational Foundation has added two new scholarships to its list of available funds to assist LFCC students with their education. The scholarships will help students with tuition, books and/or fees.

The new scholarships and their qualifying criteria are as follows:

  • BB&T Charitable Foundation Scholarship – Established by the BB&T Charitable Foundation in 2006, this scholarship will be awarded annually to full- and/or part-time LFCC students enrolled in the associate of applied science degree in accounting program who reside in the College’s service region. The scholarship award will be divided equally between the fall and spring semesters. Satisfactory academic progress (minimum grade point average of 2.0) must be maintained in order for the recipient to receive the award for the spring semester.
  • Virginia Savings Bank FSB Scholarship – Established by Virginia Savings Bank FSB in 2006, this scholarship will be awarded annually to a full-time LFCC student enrolled in an LFCC business-related program who resides in Shenandoah County, Warren County, Frederick County or the City of Winchester. The scholarship award will be divided equally between the fall and spring semesters. Satisfactory academic progress (minimum grade point average of 3.0) must be maintained in order for the recipient to receive the award for the spring semester.

In addition to the aforementioned scholarships, the LFCC Educational Foundation has many other scholarship funds, providing funding to full- and part-time students in the fall and spring semesters. Current or prospective LFCC students interested in applying for one of the many LFCC scholarships can obtain additional information on LFCC’s Web site at http://www.lfcc.edu/scholarships.

Individuals interested in donating to these or other scholarship funds may make checks payable to “LFCC Educational Foundation,” write the name of the fund on the memo line and mail the checks to the LFCC Educational Foundation Inc., 173 Skirmisher Lane, Middletown, VA 22645-1745.
