Monitor LFCC Website for Latest Weather-Related Announcements
Please monitor the Lord Fairfax Community College main website for the latest weather-related closures and/or delayed openings. When the college is closed, there will be no classes including Workforce Solutions classes. If an announcement has been posted by the college, you will see a red ALERT in the upper right corner of the website. Click on the ALERT for more information. Other options for finding out about weather-related schedule changes include (1) calling the college’s operational status line for a pre-recorded message at 540-868-7230; (2) listening to area radio stations; or (3) viewing area television channels for the latest school information. It is your responsbility to monitor public announcements regarding school closings to avoid an unecessary trip. We only notify students if we make pre-emptive decision to postpone a class. We do not notify students if a class is operating as scheduled.
If the college is open, your class will take place as scheduled. If the college is delayed beyond the start time of your class, your class is canceled. For example, if your class is scheduled to start at 10 a.m., and the college opening is delayed until 10 a.m., your class is on. If the college opening is 10:30 a.m., your class is canceled.
Workforce Solutions classes canceled due to inclement weather will typically be rescheduled for a later date. Be sure to monitor your email for class updates and information. Participants will be contacted about a rescheduled date/time when the college reopens.
If you have additional questions, contact our office when the college reopens at 540-868-7021.
