Wherever you see the PDF icon in the top right corner of the page, you can now click on it to open a PDF version of the page you’re currently viewing. You can then save the PDF, e-mail it to friends, family and colleagues or print the PDF file.

This update includes some bug fixes, some performance and efficiency enhancements and a few new features on the backend. The update to the Gallery software will most likely not effect the way photo albums and galleries are viewed on the College Web site. Please contact us if you notice any problems viewing photo albums or galleries on the Web site.

Following is a list of enhancements implemented within that application. In addition to the changes listed below, the overall speed and performance of the schedule has increased, with the groundwork laid to add additional performance enhancements in the near future.

  1. The default search form at the top of the screen is now expanded with some of the options that were previously included under the “Advanced Search” menu.
    1. “Reset all search criteria” and “Show only courses that are still available”
    2. LFCC locations
    3. Off-site locations
    4. List of course subjects
    5. Number of results to display on each page
  2. The page numbers now appear at the top and bottom of the course listing, rather than just appearing at the bottom of the page.
  3. When you change something on the search form or you move to another page, the “loading” screen that shows up now includes text that indicates the content of the page is being updated.
  4. Once the changes have loaded, an indicator appears at the top of the window informing you that the page has been updated.
  5. The background colors of the tables displayed on the page now alternate between blue and green, making it easier to determine where one table ends and another begins.
  6. If you click a link on the online course schedule that leads to another page, using the back button in your browser will lead you back to the results you were viewing when you left the course schedule, rather than resetting back to the default list of courses.

An official fan page on Facebook, a Twitter account and a YouTube account have been set up for the College.

In addition, icons for each of those social networks have been added to the home page of the LFCC Web site, making it easier to find and connect with LFCC.

Facebook

The fan page on Facebook will be used to collect and share news about the College. It will also serve as a central location from which links to all of the other official fan pages related to LFCC will be included. By visiting the “About the College” section of the fan page, you will always be able to find links and information about the fan pages that have been set up for specific areas of the College.

Only official fan pages will be posted in that section, making it easier for you to determine which fan pages are maintained by the College and which are not.

Twitter

The LFCC Twitter account will be used to post important news updates, interact with followers and let you know about fun and interesting things happening at the College. Although important closing announcements will be posted on the Twitter account, it is not intended to be a replacement for LFCC Alert. If you have not yet signed up for LFCC Alert, please do so.

YouTube

The YouTube account will be used to post and share new videos related to the College. Please feel free to visit the official LFCC YouTube channel and watch the videos that have already been posted. More will be coming very soon.

  1. The name of each employee within his or her entry in the directory is now a link, allowing users to click and visit the contact information for an individual employee.
  2. Where applicable, the “alternative contact” for each employee now links to the directory entry for that alternative contact, making it easier for visitors to contact alternates when the desired employee is not available.

These changes will make it easier for visitors to use the employee directory, and also allow the webmaster to begin linking to individual employees throughout the Web site (rather than repeating contact information throughout).

In addition, we now have the ability to publish these excerpts from our news releases directly to the official College Twitter account, so you can keep up with College news from within your Twitter feed.

The list of faculty members is based on the information provided in the “disciplines taught” section of the employee directory. For instance, if you view the list of biology courses offered at the College, you will also see a list of the faculty members who indicated in their employee directory entries that they teach biology.

  • LFCC Success Stories – Profiles of LFCC students, donors, employees and alumni now rotate in the promotional area on the home page.
  • LFCC Snapshots – Short question-and-answer profiles of LFCC students are also now included in the rotating promotional area.
